Markel hires cyber underwriter from Allianz

Markel Corp. has hired former Allianz cyber underwriter Kelly Castriotta for the newly created role of senior director, global cyber underwriting, the insurer announced in a statement Thursday.

Ms. Castriotta had been head of cyber underwriting and product development for Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty, a unit of Allianz SE.

In her new role, she will serve as lead underwriting project manager for Markel’s U.S. nonaffirmative cyber risk.

Ms. Castriotta, a Business Insurance 2020 Break Out Award winner, will be based in Markel’s Chicago office.
