Axa records $1.8 billion in COVID-19 claims

French insurer Axa SA recorded COVID-19 pandemic-related claims of €1.5 billion ($1.8 billion) in the first half of the year, Asia Insurance Review reported. The majority of claims came from commercial lines, with the impacts from COVID-19 claims largely offset by lower frequency in motor and growth in health and asset management.
