Beirut blast causes up to $15 billion damage

The blast in Beirut on Aug. 4 is expected to have caused up to $15 billion worth of damage, an increase from an earlier estimate of $5 billion, Artemis reports. A fire caused the explosion at port warehouses and killed at least 137 people and injured nearly 5,000 others. U.S.-based A.M. Best Inc. said that the blast is expected to have a negative impact on marine and property businesses.
