Gallagher buys Canadian retail brokerage

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. has acquired Canada-based retail brokerage Insight Insurance & Risk Management Ltd., Gallagher announced Wednesday.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 2013, Edmonton, Alberta-based Insight has expertise in the construction, real estate, hospitality, sports and entertainment industries and serves clients in Western Canada, Gallagher said in a statement.

Insight founder and CEO Alexis Harke and about 20 employees will continue to operate from Edmonton under the direction of Kevin Neiles, president, Western Canada for Gallagher’s retail property/casualty brokerage operations, Gallagher said.
