A California-based executive assistant has pleaded guilty to allegedly double-dipping on workers compensation claims.

Marlene Cavalcanti reported that she fell at work and sustained injuries and received more than $42,000 in total temporary disability payments as well as medical treatment, the California Department of Insurance announced in a statement Friday.

The San Rafael, California-based woman then took a new job and allegedly tried to file a workers comp claim with their insurer for a similar injury, said the department.

According to the department, Mrs. Cavalcanti admitted to forging physician signatures and creating fictitious doctor’s reports to keep up the injury pretense.

She is expected to be sentenced in September.
