Axa XL, a division of Axa SA, on Monday announced its new Americas leadership team, following a realignment of its operations announced in April.

All three executives report to Joe Tocco, CEO for the Americas.

Donna Nadeau, based in New York, was named chief underwriting officer, moving from her current position as chief operating officer in North America, the statement from Axa on Monday said. Ms. Nadeau will also report to Nancy Bewlay, who was previously announced as global chief underwriting officer, a spokeswoman said in an email.

Bob Peretti, based in New York, was named chief distribution officer. Mr. Peretti has led Axa XL’s North America client and distribution management team since 2015, the statement said.

Jim DiVirgilio was named chief claims officer.  He most recently led Axa XL’s claims management activity across North America, the statement said. Mr. DiVirgilio will remain based in Hartford, Connecticut, and will also report to Brent Hoffman, global claims officer, the spokeswoman said.

Axa XL also announced zonal leadership appointments for the three U.S. zones – East, Central and West – created by the insurer’s new regional structure.

Matt O’Malley will head the East, based in New York. He most recently managed Axa XL’s casualty excess and surplus and environmental business in the U.S., the statement said.

Todd Sutherland will head the Central zone, based in Chicago. He was most recently North Central regional leader.

Mike Soper will head the West, based in San Francisco. He was most recently Western regional leader.

The regional head roles are newly created and report to Mr. Tocco, whose Americas country management team also includes Patrick Tannock as country manager, Bermuda; Urs Uhlmann as country manager, Canada; and Renato Rodrigues as regional manager, Latin America.
