Everest names top executives of insurance unit

Everest Re Group Ltd. on Friday named Michael Karmilowicz president and CEO of Everest Insurance and named Michael Mulray chief operating officer of the division.
Mr. Karmilowicz most recently served as executive vice president and president of North America property/casualty for Everest Insurance. He replaces Jonathan M. Zaffino who left the insurer earlier this year to join Ascot Group.
Mr. Mulray, who will report to Mr. Karmilowciz in the newly created role, has been chief underwriting officer of the unit since May 2015, an Everest statement said.
Mr. Karmilowicz is based in New York and will report to group CEO Juan Andrade. Mr. Mulray is based in Liberty Corner, New Jersey.
