A 23-year-old man in Holbrook, Massachusetts, was riding in the fraud fast lane until someone reported their suspicions to the Massachusetts Insurance Fraud Bureau.

A statewide grand jury has indicted Dion Augustin after evidence alleged that he bought luxury cars with fraudulent financing in order to purposely damage them and collect more than $200,000 in fraudulent insurance claims, The Patriot Ledger reported Monday.

Ms. Augustin is accused of buying a number of luxury cars, including a Bentley, a Maserati and two Fisker Karmas by “misrepresenting” how creditworthy he was to gain $136,940 in car financing, according to the article.

Charged with seven counts of larceny of more than $250 under false pretenses and eight counts of motor vehicle insurance fraud, he will be arraigned at a later date, the newspaper reported.
