Sound familiar? Thirty-nine percent of couples have experienced arguments over insurance, a survey by personal finance website ValuePenguin.com revealed Tuesday.
In the latest battle of the sexes, men were much more likely to say they had argued with their spouse over insurance; 52% of men said they had, while just 24% of women admitted to fighting over which insurer to use or whether to file a claim — listed as the top two arguments, according to the results.
How often do they argue? The survey found that 24% of people review their insurance policies with their beloved every six months. Meanwhile, the marital tried-and-true avoidance tactic seems to work for some: 22% admit to never talking about insurance at all.
The good news is the squabbles seem to go away with anniversaries: 53% of millennials and Generation Xers said they had argued with their spouses over insurance decisions, while just 15% of people over 55 said they had.
