BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

P-Utah town sues over ‘foul’ smells

odor

It smells like bleeeeep in West Valley City, Utah. No, Really.

As The Salt Lake Tribune reported in 2018, an “intolerable odor of human feces mixed with industrial waste” has led some residents to limit their time outside and has hindered efforts to bring economic development to the area.

On Monday, the city filed a lawsuit against E.T. Technologies, a waste-processing site adjacent to the Salt Lake Valley Landfill and about one mile from West Valley City’s border, according to the newspaper.

It claims that after years of “unsuccessful efforts” to work with the company, the lawsuit is the latest effort to quench the stench. The city is seeking at least $300,000 in damages and a court order that the company must abate the “impure,” “foul” and “unwholesome” smell, according to the newspaper.
