Airline insurers expect rise in claims, but reinsurance to offer cover

Airline insurers in India expect a rise in claims after two cyclones hit the country in quick succession, but they do not expect to take a big hit due to adequate reinsurance cover, Moneycontrol reported. Cyclone Amphan hit West Bengal and parts of Odisha on May 20 and cyclone Nisarga hit Maharashtra on June 3. Aviation claims due to cyclone Amphan have reached 600 million Indian rupees ($8 million) so far.
