Global ransomware attacks rise 40% in 2019

Singapore-based cyber security provider Group-IB LLC said that the number of ransomware attacks across the world increased 40% year-over-year in 2019, Infosecurity Magazine reports. As large enterprises became an increasing focus for these attacks, average ransom demands soared from $8,000 in 2018 to $84,000 last year.
