Thomas Leonardi, executive vice president of AIG and vice chair AIG Life Holdings Inc., announced he has decided to leave AIG at the end of May.

“I have decided to depart from AIG effective May 31, 2020,” Mr. Leonardi said in a LinkedIn post. “I will be taking some down time and have not considered what I may want to do going forward. I do hope to stay actively involved in the issues that I have been passionately engaged in since coming out of retirement nearly 10 years ago.”

Mr. Leonardi is 66, according to AIG’s recent proxy statement.

AIG did not return calls seeking comment.

Mr. Leonardi joined AIG in October 2017 after previously serving as Connecticut Insurance Commissioner.
