Severe weather forces Greece to declare state of emergency

Greece's ministry of civil protection has declared a state of emergency in South Pelion, Skopelos, and Skiathos municipalities in Thessaly Region due to severe weather conditions from April 4 to April 6, Flood List reports. Strong winds disrupted sea transport and uprooted trees, while heavy rains triggered floods in Thessaly and Thessaloniki regions.
