Small businesses risk losing insurance on closed premises

Millions of businesses in the United Kingdom that have been forced to shut their premises due to the coronavirus outbreak risk losing their insurance unless they act quickly, The Guardian reports. Most commercial buildings insurance policies cease to offer full cover once the building has been unoccupied for 30 days. Insurers have said they will be "flexible" concerning the 30-day rule, while affected firms, charities, and other bodies will have to meet a long list of requirements, such as visiting the property once a week and even draining water tanks, if the shutdown continues.
