Program manager appoints president

K2 Insurance Services LLC named Mark Smith president, the San Diego-based program manager said in a statement Wednesday.

Mr. Smith will report to CEO Robert Kimmel, according to an email from Mr. Kimmel. Mr. Kimmel previously held both titles.

Mr. Smith was most recently chief underwriting officer with Victor U.S., the managing general underwriter owned by Marsh LLC.

“Adding someone with a strong underwriting and actuarial background was a logical step as our premium volume quickly approaches $1B," Mr. Kimmel said in the statement.
