Specialty broker snags Willis Towers Watson exec

EC3 Brokers Ltd., a London-based specialty brokerage, has set up an international financial and professional lines division headed by former longtime Willis Towers Watson PLC executive David Purdy.
Mr. Purdy joined Willis in 1987 and was named executive director of its financial and executive risks practice in 2007. One of his specialties is placing directors and officers liability coverage and other financial lines in London for firms in Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia, EC3 said in a statement.
Last week, privately owned EC3 announced the formation of a U.S. property wholesale division.
Earlier last week, Aon PLC agreed to buy Willis Towers Watson.
