Italy puts northern Italy under quarantine to contain outbreak

Italy's decision to put up to 16 million people under quarantine in northern Italy, to contain the coronavirus, will effectively shut down a significant part of the economy, Quartz reports. Lombardy region in northern Italy is responsible for 40% of the nation's industrial production. Schools, gyms, museums, nightclubs and other venues have also been closed across the country.
