Aspen taps former Swiss Re exec as group chief risk officer

Aspen Insurance Holdings Ltd. on Tuesday named former Swiss Re America Corp. executive Crystal Ottaviano as group chief risk officer, effective March 2.
Ms. Ottaviano will report to Mark Cloutier, executive chairman and group CEO, Aspen said in a statement. She succeeds Tim Aman, who will continue to lead responsibility for outward reinsurance/retro analysis, structuring and placement.
Ms. Ottaviano previously served as chief risk officer at Swiss Re America Corp. since October 2013, overseeing the reinsurer’s property/casualty reinsurance business in the region, Aspen said.
Prior to joining Swiss Re in 2011, Ms. Ottaviano was head of risk management at Hiscox USA, where she developed the risk management strategy for the U.S. specialty business.
