Property insurance rates to rise by 15% in Jamaica

The Insurance Association of Jamaica expects property insurance rates to rise by 10%-15% this year because of "increasingly destructive Atlantic hurricane seasons in recent years," The Gleaner reported. Orville Johnson, executive director at the association, said that the Caribbean's increased risk rating was a defining factor behind the hike.
