Facebook could be fined for improper data use

Italy's competition watchdog could fine U.S.-based Facebook Inc. up to $5.5 million for non-compliance over a request to rectify the company's treatment of user data, Financial World reported. The regulator said that the company had failed to inform its users how it had been gathering and using customer data for commercial purposes.
