Chubb Ltd. has named Suresh Krishnan to the newly created role of chief operating officer for its accident and health business in the U.S. and Canada, the insurer said in a statement Wednesday.
He will be based in New York and report to James Walloga, Chubb's executive vice president, North America Accident and Health.
Mr. Krishnan will be responsible for sales and distribution, claims and product development for the company's large account and middle-market insurance segments, and will also oversee Chubb's Canada accident and health business.
Prior to this new position, Mr. Krishnan served as head of Europe's major accounts division, the statement said.
"Suresh has a deep understanding of our business, our culture and our clients' needs," Mr. Walloga said in the statement.
Nadia Côté, Chubb’s country president for France, succeeds Mr. Krishnan as head of the major accounts division, the statement said.
Ms. Côté will relocate to London and report to Adam Clifford, division president for Chubb in Continental Europe and Sara Mitchell, division president for the United Kingdom and Ireland retail business, Chubb said in a separate statement.
In her newly expanded role, Côté will also be responsible for global broker relationships and broker networks outside North America for Chubb's overseas general division.
Veronique Brionne, director of accident and health for Continental Europe, succeeds Ms. Côté as country president for France. She will be responsible for Chubb's property and casualty, accident and health, and consumer lines operations across France.
She will continue to be based in Paris and will report to Adam Clifford. This appointment is subject to regulatory approval.
Florian Eisele, country president for Switzerland, succeeds Ms. Brionne as director of accident and health, Continental Europe
He will have responsibility for all of Chubb's accident and health business throughout Continental Europe. He will be based in Zürich and report to Adam Clifford.
A separate announcement on Mr. Eisele’s replacement will be made “in due course,” the statement said.
Chubb also named Eric Bartenstein to the newly created role of senior vice president, chief underwriting and digital officer for its North America accident and health division. He will focus on the transformation of North America's accident and health business into a digital environment.
Mr. Bartenstein will be based in Philadelphia and report to Mr. Walloga.
