Former Aon exec Fitzgerald resurfaces at QBE

Former Aon PLC executive Tom Fitzgerald has joined QBE North America as president of specialty and commercial, the insurer announced Wednesday.

Mr. Fitzgerald will be based in Chicago and report to Todd Jones, CEO of QBE North America, a unit of Sydney-based QBE Insurance Group Ltd.

Jeff Grange, who was previously president of specialty and commercial insurance and global head of trade credit and surety business at QBE North America, joined Argo Group International Holdings Ltd. as an executive vice president in December.

Mr. Fitzgerald was a longtime Aon executive but left nearly a year ago amid the brokerage’s restructuring program.

At the time of his departure he was chief executive of Aon Broking.
