German telecom company fined for GDPR violation

Germany’s Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information has imposed a fine of €9.55 million ($10.6 million) on Germany-based 1&1 Telecom GmbH for a General Data Protection Regulation violation, Hot For Security reported. The penalty relates to inadequate organizational and technical measures taken at the company’s call center for ensuring the protection of customer data.
