Chubb appoints executives for North America

Chubb Ltd. said Friday it has named two executives to leadership positions for its North American commercial insurance unit.

Ben Rockwell, who is now executive vice president and chief underwriting officer of North American commercial insurance, has been named vice president, Chubb Group, and will serve as division president, Chubb, middle market and be based in Whitehouse Station, New Jersey.

James Williamson, also based in Whitehouse Station, New Jersey, and now vice president, Chubb Group and division president, North America small commercial insurance, will serve as division president, Chubb small business, which includes the insurer’s product and service offerings for small and lower middle market companies.  Mr. Williamson was named division president in 2016.

They will report to Paul Krump, executive vice president, Chubb Group and president, North America commercial and personal insurance. The appointments are effective immediately.

They succeed C. Scott Gunter, who is leaving the company after more than 30 years. Mr. Krump said in the statement he wishes Mr. Gunter, who was named senior vice president and division president for North America commercial insurance in 2017, and his family well.

Chubb also said Alex Wells, now executive vice president and commercial insurance regional manager, Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions, will succeed Mr. Rockwell as chief underwriting officer for North America commercial insurance.
