Munich Re Specialty names E&S property head

Munich Re Specialty Insurance named New York-based Jim Wallace to be head of property, excess and surplus lines, the insurer said in a statement Wednesday.
Mr. Wallace reports to Jill Beggs, president, excess and surplus lines, Munich Re Specialty Insurance, the statement said. He was most recently president of the U.S. property excess and surplus line division of Navigators Specialty Insurance Co.
Also reporting to Ms. Beggs is Diane Link, who joined in April as head of casualty, excess and surplus lines and is based in Chicago. Ms. Link was most recently head of excess and surplus casualty insurance for North America with Swiss Re Corporate Solutions.
“They bring a wealth of experience to their respective areas including a deep expertise and understanding of the specialty lines business which makes them well-positioned to help Munich Re Specialty Insurance take advantage of profitable growth opportunities in the market,” Ms. Beggs said in the statement.

U.K.-based reinsurer Munich Re Specialty Group Ltd. has appointed Celine Ang as head of Asia operations, effective Aug. 1, Asia Insurance Review reported. Ms. Ang will be based in Singapore and be responsible for Munich Re Syndicate offices across the region. Ms. Ang will join Munich Re from France-based insurer Euler Hermes Group S.A., where she is currently serving as chief executive for operations in Southeast Asia.
