The merger of Indian general insurers United India Insurance Co. Ltd., The Oriental Insurance Co. Ltd. and National Insurance Co. Ltd. could result in the loss of 15,000 jobs, Domain-b reports. The country's finance ministry expects the merger to help eliminate business competition among the three.
