Nearly $60 million to be paid to Prestige oil spill victims

A Spanish provincial court has ruled that nearly €52 million ($57 million) be paid to those affected by the spill from MV Prestige oil tanker in 2002, El Espanol reported citing Europe Press. The London Steamship Owners Mutual Insurance Association Ltd. will pay nearly €23 million, while the International Fund for Compensation for Oil Damage will pay more than €27 million.
