Quake causes widespread damage

A magnitude-5.4 earthquake that hit southern France on Nov. 11 caused significant damage, prompting the government to declare a state of natural catastrophe in nine communities, Prensa Latina reports. The communities include Puygiron, Montelimar, Montboucher-sur-Jabron, Chateauneuf-du-Rhane, Viviers, Saint-Thome, Rochemaure, Alba-la-Romaine and Teil.
