Malta aims to become ILS hub despite barriers to entry

Insurance and reinsurance industry experts said that Malta aims to become a hub for insurance-linked securities despite barriers to entry, Artemis reports. Matthew Bianchi, governor of financial services body FinanceMalta, said that while Malta’s laws are favorable for ILS, it’s a new and unfamiliar market for investors who sometimes are not willing to take the risk of investing in an ILS in market that is not as established as Bermuda.
