Alert level raised for volcano

The Japan Meteorological Agency raised the alert level for Mount Shinmoe volcano on Nov. 18 amid increasing seismic activity in the area, The Japan Times reports citing Kyodo. The agency warned of potential eruptions and the risk of airborne rocks within two kilometers of the crater, as well as pyroclastic flows within a kilometer.
