Bolivia loses nearly $170 million amid protests

The Bolivian government said that protests have caused $167 million of losses in the country through "impeded commerce and looting," The Loadstar reported. Around $16 million of the loss is attributable to shipping difficulties and production halts in Cochabamba, Bolivia's agricultural and industrial hub. Road blockades across the country affected shipments to neighboring countries, while flight disruptions at El Alto International Airport prevented shippers from sending cargo beyond South America.
