Wildfires burn 122,000 hectares of land in Brazil

Brazil's National Institute for Space Research said that wildfires have burned through 122,000 hectares of land in Pantanal in the past few days, Deutsche Welle reported. More than 8,000 fires have been recorded in the region so far this year. Felipe Dias, head of environmental organization SOS Pantanal, said that at least 1.5 million hectares have burned since August.
