Guy Carpenter recruits Bermuda execs from rival

Guy Carpenter & Co. LLC has hired former Aon PLC executives Robert Johnston and Peter Komposch to its Bermuda operations.

In addition, the reinsurance brokerage unit of Marsh & McLennan Cos. Inc. made several other promotions at its Bermuda unit.

Mr. Johnston, who was president of Aon’s reinsurance operation in Bermuda, will be chairman of Guy Carpenter’s Bermuda operations. He succeeds John Fletcher, who was named CEO of the unit.

Former Guy Carpenter Bermuda CEO Peter Stubbings left to join Aon last year.

Mr. Komposch, who was previously a managing director at Aon, will be head of casualty and specialty, Bermuda for Guy Carpenter.

In addition, Guy Carpenter managing directors Jonathan Ogilvie and Chris Dart were given additional responsibilities. Mr. Ogilvie will be head of retrocession, Bermuda, and Mr. Dart will be head of property treaty, Bermuda.
