Firm behind Israel's 2014 oil spill fined nearly $30 million

Israel-based oil pipeline firm Eilat-Askhelon Pipeline Co. Ltd. has been fined 100 million Israeli shekels ($28.6 million) for damage caused by the leak of five million liters of oil into a nature reserve in December 2014, Ynet News reported. The breached pipeline started spewing oil into the Evrona desert reserve in south Israel and threatened to spread to the shores of Red Sea and Jordan.
