Shanghai aims to become an international reinsurance center that could rely on the Shanghai Free Trade Zone free trade account system to open a cross-border settlement channel, Asia Insurance Review reports. Wu Qing, Shanghai’s deputy mayor, said that the insurance markets of several nearby countries also have great potential, and there is a high demand for reinsurance in those markets.
