Security firm 1st Watch Global will provide assessments for a new active assailant coverage program from Pioneer Programs Insurance Solutions LLC, based in Pasadena, California, and EC3 Brokers Ltd., London-based EC3 said Monday.

Launched Nov. 1, Targeted Violence Program: Pioneer/1st Watch Global Program is available primarily for the U.S. market and more broadly through Delaware-based 1st Watch Global’s network of contractors, backed by capacity from Lloyd’s of London, EC3 said in a statement.

Covered exposures include terrorism, active assailants, events caused by cars or bombs and other targeted violence at schools, healthcare facilities, entertainment venues, houses of worship, the hospitality industry, malls, shopping centers and other organizations and businesses, according to an email from an EC3 spokeswoman.

The coverage form includes third-party bodily injury and first-person physical damage with limits up to $10 million, according to the spokeswoman.

Coverage is underwritten and priced based on an inspection by 1st Watch Global, she said.

Comprehensive additional coverages include first-person bodily injury, property damage, business interruption, counseling services, funeral expenses, brand rehabilitation, emergency accommodations, forensic cleanup and more, the spokeswoman said.

1st Watch Global assessments performed by ex-FBI agents and homeland security professionals, helps determine the preventive changes necessary and “ensures eligibility for the insurance policy,” the statement said.
