Latin America boosts Mapfre's premiums

Spanish insurer Mapfre SA's premiums increased 2.5% to €17.6 million ($19.6 billion) in the first nine months of the year largely thanks to increased writings in writings in Mexico, Peru and the Dominican Republic, Hispanidad reported. Net profit fell 12.5% year-over-year to nearly €463 million during the period.
