Fireworks makers lose $225 million due to unclear regs

The Indian fireworks industry is expected to lose up to 16 billion Indian rupees ($226 million) due to a shutdown of factories from mid-November 2018 to mid-March 2019, Deccan Herald reported. Lack of clarity from the government on “green crackers” led to the closure of factories for more than three months, which reduced production by 60%.
