Everest Re's pre-tax cat loss likely to total $280 million

Bermuda-based reinsurer Everest Re Group Ltd. expects its pre-tax catastrophe losses to total $280 million in the third quarter, Bernews reports. "By event, the pre-tax estimated catastrophe losses to Everest are $160 million from hurricane Dorian, and $120 million from typhoon Faxai," the reinsurer said.
