Brexit creates expansion opportunities for runoff insurers

Britain's impending departure from the European Union is creating expansion opportunities for specialist general insurers that buy and manage runoff policies, Reuters reports. Andrew Ward, a director for insurance deals at U.K.-based consulting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, said, "Brexit is causing EU insurers to look at their structures and this brings non-core lines into focus, leading to opportunities for the acquirers."
