Tech outage hits 8 million bank customers

A major technology outage at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia has forced the closure of some branches, with eight million customers being unable to transfer funds, The Sydney Morning Herald reported. The issue affected payments including PayID and BPAY services in the CommBank app and NetBank; card-less cash; some in-branch services; some call center services; and debit card payments.
