Chubb unveils upgraded cyber index

Chubb Ltd. said Wednesday it is offering an upgraded version of its Chubb Cyber Index with additional features that help identify cyber threats.

The insurer said the new version of the index provides additional insight into costs that go beyond potential loss, such as cost of incident response support services that are designed to help organizations return to productivity friendly.

The tool, which was introduced in 2018, also now offers a quantifiable and detailed means to quickly identify the cyber risk a business may face, according to its statement.

Chubb said in a report Friday that ransomware attacks in the first half of this year exceeded the total reported for all of 2018.
