New tanker attack to further raise ship insurance rates in gulf

Jonathan Moss, head of marine & trade at U.K.-based law firm DWF LLP, said that the recent rocket attack on an Iranian oil tanker in the Red Sea would lead to insurers raising war risk insurance rates further for vessels operating in the region, Hellenic Shipping News Worldwide reported citing IRNA. Since the attacks on tankers in May, war risk insurance rates have increased by ten-fold.
