Floods cause more than $1.5 billion of damage

Indian district Belagavi's administration said that floods caused nearly 112 billion Indian rupees ($1.6 billion) worth of damage in the district, The Times of India reports. Floods damaged 221,428 hectares of crops valued at more than INR 32 billion, and damage to business establishments, shops and industries surpass INR 28 billion.
