Losses due to communications blockade exceed $700 million

India's Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industries expects the ongoing communication blockade in the state of Jammu and Kashmir to have caused business losses of more than 50 billion Indian rupees ($705 million), News Click reports. The Indian government imposed restrictions and bifurcated the state into two union territories on Aug. 5, leading to a clampdown and communication blockade.
