Brown & Brown names technology and innovation leader

Brown & Brown Inc. on Friday said it has named Stephen Boyd to the newly created role of senior vice president of technology, innovation and digital strategy.

Mr. Boyd will work with Daytona Beach, Florida-based Brown & Brown’s business segments on long-term technology strategy and execution, the broker said in a statement.

He will be based San Diego and report directly to President & CEO Powell Brown.

Mr. Boyd was most recently president and COO of Arrowhead General Insurance Agency Inc., the statement said. Arrowhead General Insurance Agency, Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Brown & Brown, Inc. according to a spokeswoman for the broker.

“His experience as an operator and a former (chief information officer) makes him well equipped to lead our efforts in technology going forward,” Mr. Brown said in the statement.
