Starbucks latest brand to face backlash of protesters

U.S.-based coffeehouse chain Starbucks is the latest brand to face the backlash of Hong Kong's pro-democracy protesters after a family member of the restaurant chain that owns the local franchise spoke out against the demonstrators, Asia Times reports citing Agence France-Presse. Other brands that have been targeted for taking sides in the protests include Hong Kong-based airline Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd., Japanese restaurant chains Yoshinoya Holdings Co. and Genki Sushi Co. Ltd., as well as Bank of China Ltd.
