AmWINS to buy medical stop-loss group

AmWINS Group Inc. on Wednesday said it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Scottsdale, Arizona-based Stealth Partner Group, a full-service general agent that specializes in medical stop-loss insurance.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Charlotte, North-Carolina-based AmWINS said in a statement that Stealth will combine with its Stop Loss Insurance Services unit.
The combined firm will be led by a Patricia Berridge and Harley Barnes, who are among Stealth’s founders, and become part of AmWINS’ Group Benefits division.
The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2019 pending regulatory approval and customary closing conditions, according to the statement.
