Merger talks of two Malaysian insurers may be off

Malaysia-based AmGeneral Insurance Berhad and insurer Allianz Malaysia Berhad may have ended their merger talks, The Edge Markets reported citing sources. A source said that one of the reasons could be that Malaysia's central bank believes the two insurers combined would be too big for the market, especially when they both command a large share of the same segment.
